Ithilden

from $165.00

Ithilden is a magical substance from the mind of J.R.R.
Tolkein and used in both The Hobbit and Lord of the
Rings.  It is only visable in moonlight and is made of
mithril, a metal more precious than platinum.
I captured Ithilden on the frozen shores of Lake Michigan
on a cold winter night which was lit only by the glow
of a full moon.  Under the moon’s soft light the ice
became something more, it appeared to glow from
within and bubbles trapped within were rimmed with
silver fire. It felt like I had been transported to a magical
place, and Ithilden is the only word I could use to
describe it.
